Expoprotection 2026: Five Questions to Ask

If you’re heading to Expoprotection 2026 to look at HSEQ software, you’ll be spoilt for choice. With 660 exhibitors across Paris Porte de Versailles from November 3rd to 5th, there will be no shortage of demos, dashboards, and bold promises. The trick is knowing what to ask. A slick demo can hide a system that your team won’t use, or one that doesn’t fit how your sites actually work. So before you start collecting brochures, here are five questions we’d recommend putting to every HSEQ software vendor you meet.
#1 Does it connect your risks, or just record them?
Many HSEQ teams still work across separate systems for incidents, audits, training, and contractors. Each one might work well on its own, but nobody gets the full picture. As we covered in our Expoprotection trends post, unified risk management is one of the big conversations at this year’s show.
Ask the vendor to show you how an incident links to the risk assessment, the corrective action and the training record behind it. If that takes four screens and an export, keep looking.
#2 Will your frontline workers actually use it?
The best HSEQ software in the world is useless if the people on the ground don’t use it. Ask how a worker without a laptop reports a hazard. Ask how long it takes. Ask if it works offline, on a shared device, or in more than one language. Adoption is where most systems succeed or fail. It’s the reason we built FlexManager Kiosks, which bring compliance to the point of work.
#3 How does it handle contractors and shared sites?
On busy sites, contractors and subcontractors often outnumber direct employees. Ask how the system tracks contractor inductions, qualifications, insurance and permits. Then ask what happens when a document expires: does the system flag it, or does someone have to remember?
#4 What does it tell you before something goes wrong?
Reporting on last month’s incidents is useful. Spotting next month’s is better. Ask what leading indicators the software tracks, such as overdue actions, missed inspections or lapsed training. Also ask how easy it is to build a report for your leadership team. If it needs a consultant every time, that’s a hidden cost.
#5 Where does AI fit, and who stays in control?
AI will be on almost every stand at Expoprotection this year. Some of it will be genuinely useful, and some of it will be a buzzword. Ask what the AI actually does, what data it uses, and who checks its output. One of the show’s own sessions notes that AI adoption “remains hampered by challenges related to acceptance, control, and cooperation among stakeholders.” A good vendor should be able to explain how their tool addresses all three.
